Failing to Find Words: Reflecting on C.S. Lewis’s The Apologist’s Evening Prayer

I am delighted, as ever, to be a ‘contributor-muse’ on Kelly Belmonte’s blog All Nine. In this piece, I reflect on one of C.S. Lewis’s poems — for although he’s best known for his Chronicles of Narnia and his works of apologetics, he was also a poet, and a very good one indeed. In fact, I have come increasingly to think that his poetry is due for much more attention and recognition than it has received to date.

With that in mind, come read “Failing to Find Words” over on All Nine, and see what surprises Lewis had in store for me as I reflected on the poem “The Apologist’s Evening Prayer”…
