We Have a Plan!

Hello, dear readers! Hieropraxis has grown a lot in the past year or so, with new writers and lots of new content. I have loads of interesting things planned for the spring… well, I think they’re interesting, anyway. In addition to the usual posts, I’m going to do two podcast series (one of which, “Praying the Way of the Cross,” will start next week – it’s a Lenten series that will take a Charles Williams-inspired approach to Malcolm Guite’s marvelous Stations of the Cross sonnet sequence as a lead-in to Holy Week and Easter.)

So here’s the plan: to create a sense of order and anticipation, Hieropraxis is going to have a weekly structure for posts, as follows:

Monday: Miscellany Monday – my collection of & commentary upon idiosyncratic links of interest, about culture, books, reading, education, and anything that just seems intriguing.

Wednesday: Wednesday Words – something related to literature or language. Maybe a poem; maybe a book review; maybe a podcast…

Friday: Footnote Fridays – not necessarily every Friday, but here’s where those interesting pieces will go that just don’t fit anywhere else.

Saturday / Sunday: Weekend Guests – a regular rotation of posts by my talented guest writers.

For email subscribers: I have set the email frequency back to “daily, with new posts” so you can expect emails in your inbox on this schedule. You can choose your mailing preferences as well: if you choose “all Hieropraxis posts” you get everything, but if you want to be selective about what arrives in your inbox, you can edit your preferences accordingly through the link included at the bottom of the email. Note to new subscribers: I might be mistaken, but I think that if you check “All Hieropraxis posts” AND also check some of the other options, you may get duplicates. I’m not sure, but if that’s the case, you can click on the “update subscription preferences” link on one of the Hieropraxis emails and change your preferences to whatever you like.

Did you know Hieropraxis has a Facebook page now? Here is is! If you ‘like’ it, you can get a free e-book of my poetry, “The Pain Sonnets and Other Poems.” Also, if you visit the FB page, you can discuss topics of interest with more interaction. We’ve had some good conversations there so far!

Thanks for reading, dear readers.

Cheers,
Holly

    1. So totally excited for this new format, Holly! I am looking forward to all the new content. And I cannot wait for the podcasts. How enlightening. Plus, I am so excited for the information on literature. Blessings to you in this expansion!

Thanks, Ali! I’m really excited about it myself. I’ve just scheduled Footnote Friday pieces for March (a three-part series on styles of argument, plus a sonnet for the Annunciation), and finally found a place (on this coming Wednesday Words) for a piece on the value of liturgy.

    3. I am so glad to have found your site. I just finished your ‘Imagination and Reality’ podcasts and have shared them with others. Part 3 was especially powerful!

I look forward to reading your book when it arrives.

      Thanks, Mo! That’s very encouraging!
