This is a great post, Holly. I, too, prefer to read over watching the television. I only watch television on Sunday nights with my friends.

Once I graduated from law school, I started to read many of the classics that I never read--or read thoroughly--in school. I gave up reading junk several years ago. I always have one classic work going (I am now reading Anna Karenina), one work of theology or nonfiction, and an easier read for when I don't want to think as much. In addition, I try to devote some time every day, or almost every day, to some portion of reading the Bible. And my reading life is much richer and more rewarding now.

I do get caught up in surfing the internet in my free time, and I fear that is a bad habit of mine. I need to work on giving up that habit.
